Description

This API allows users to search and access datasets from the Government of Canada. It facilitates learning how to work with datasets and provides insights into how government data has been utilized.

What can you use it for?

Build a searchable dataset browser, an automatic feed of recently updated open datasets, or a map of Canada’s geospatial open data. The API gives programmatic access to dataset metadata and datastores so you can pull JSON or CSV directly into dashboards and visualizations. Read-only calls work without registering, so you can prototype quickly. Publishing or federating new datasets requires an account and API key, and data is reusable under the Open Government Licence.
