Manual Precipitation Stations

Description

This API provides access to the data generated by MeteoSwiss’s manual precipitation monitoring network, which operates around 240 locations collecting daily rainfall and snow measurements. Users can retrieve data using REST API endpoints for automated downloads or access via the Open Data Explorer for manual selection.

What can you use it for?

Build rainfall maps, snow‑monitoring dashboards, or station alerts using MeteoSwiss manual precipitation records. You can fetch per‑station CSV files for daily, monthly or yearly aggregates via the STAC API and combine them with maps or time-series tools. The data cover roughly 240 stations across Switzerland and are easy to automate. The data are open (CC BY 4.0) — just remember to cite MeteoSwiss when you publish.
