GeoAdmin Search API

Description

This API allows users to search for locations, layers, or features using either text search or bounding box parameters. It supports three types of searches: location search, layer search, and feature search, enabling comprehensive data retrieval from the Swiss national geographic database.

What can you use it for?

Build a location picker, an address lookup for Swiss users, or a map layer browser using official Swiss geodata. You can search by free text or limit results to a bounding box and get geometries back as GeoJSON. The service is free to use without registration, but follows fair‑use request limits so avoid heavy scraping. If you expect high traffic, contact the geo.admin.ch team in advance.
