The CTP API provides integration methods for connecting the functionality and content of the Chinese Text Project with external web applications. It consists of a Plugin API for adding external tools and a JSON API for leveraging CTP features externally.
Build a searchable reader of classics, a study tool that highlights parallel passages, or an academic bot that fetches citation-grade passages. You can fetch titles, chapters, and metadata in JSON or offer plugins users can install on their CTP accounts. Basic reading and small requests work without an API key, while logged-in accounts or institutional subscriptions unlock larger downloads and subsection listings. It’s great for digital humanities demos, research tools, and language-learning helpers.
