Automatic Weather Stations

Description

The Automatic Weather Stations API provides access to data from around 160 automatic measurement stations within the SwissMetNet network. It delivers vital meteorological data including temperature, precipitation, wind speed, and humidity every 10 minutes to support weather forecasting and environmental monitoring.

What can you use it for?

Build a live Swiss weather map, create local alerting for storms or heat, or analyze decades of station histories. You can download per‑station CSV files at 10‑minute, hourly, daily, monthly or yearly granularity, or fetch main parameters frequently via the FSDI/STAC REST endpoint. The dataset includes long historical series (automatic measurements from around 1981 onward at many stations). The data is published as Open Data—just cite MeteoSwiss when you reuse or redistribute it.
